SPRINGFIELD, VA—Interstate Van Lines has won the 2009 Safety Initiative Award from the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA). The award was presented during the AMSA Education Conference & Expo held in Dallas, Texas from February 8th to 11th, 2009. JD Morrissette accepted the award at the presentation ceremony.
AMSA is the premier moving and storage association in the United States. The Safety Initiative Award is given to the van line whose single component of its safety program has done the best job of improving its overall safety and risk management position. Over the past few years, the Interstate Safety Team, comprised of Glenn Begg, Maxine Euto, Scott Mitchell and Michelle Shriner, has implemented a creative and innovative incentive program to help drivers achieve their best possible safety scores. Additionally, the Safety Team adheres to strict policies to ensure Interstate’s compliance with the safety rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. This is the 4th safety initiative award won by Interstate Van Lines. Congratulations to the Safety Team and Van Line Drivers for continuing a tradition of excellence in the field!
